"All the rugs designs were created with a mixture of painting, oil pastel, and photocopied paper collage. My process is quite intuitive and primitive - each rug design has elements that I sought to balance and mix, and we used the same palette throughout the collection.
Moving Shadow came about from looking at tattoos and denim clothing, and some abstract shapes I was drawing a lot last summer. I really wanted a rug with no obvious natural forms; something more graphic. The name comes from a rave record label that was founded in 1990; their logo is a bit reminiscent of some of the shapes."
